About
"Hearse Night At The Drive-In"
Every 3 weeks or so, during the warm Midwest weather, we
get a
few hearses together & go to our local drive-in movie theatre.
We all meet at a pre-planned destination beforehand, wait for everyone to
arrive, then form a procession of hearses and arrive there together. Once
we get there, we line up our hearses
side-by-side while we all hang out and watch the 2 movies.
We bring coolers, lawn chairs, blankets, cameras, and some-
times even a casket or two and have a ghoul time!
We all sit outside together by Scary Perry's 1965 Caddy hearse because he
has a PA speaker behind the grill of his hearse,
loud enough so everyone can hear the movies and still hang
out together. We usually get there early, hang out, talk
"hearse-talk", take some pictures, and have a "grave" time
until the movies start. And the employees at the drive-in absolutely love
us & look forward to our next appearance!
This
outdoor drive-in movie theater is the oldest one in S/E Wisconsin
and is located on the "coronor" of Sheridan Rd. and 91st St.,
right on the border of south Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie, just 3 or 4 miles
north of the Illinois border.
It has been in operation since 1949.
Stop in and say hello to Amanda, the sexy pizza girl at the concession stand!
